Clinical Psychologist
St Kilda, Melbourne and online
About me
I am a Clinical Psychologist working therapeutically with individuals impacted by traumatic or stressful life events, as well as those experiencing low mood, anxiety, low self-esteem, stress and burnout, grief, and/or challenges in their interpersonal relationships.
I offer a containing and non-judgemental space where you can safely share and make sense of your experiences, explore your inner world, cultivate self-compassion, and feel empowered to navigate life’s challenges.
I am also passionate about providing gender and neurodivergent affirming care and supporting people who wish to feel more confident in living as their most authentic selves.
“What we run from pursues us. What we face transforms us.”
- David Kessler
Experience and special interests
I have over thirteen years of clinical experience working with people of all ages and from diverse backgrounds in a range of settings, including private practice, public hospitals and outpatient services, a specialist gender diversity service, and forensic services.
I have a special interest in working therapeutically with individuals who are experiencing the impacts of psychological trauma (both complex and single-incident). Consequently, my practice is trauma-informed, and I approach each person as a whole, bringing not only the mind but the body into therapy.
I am also highly experienced in providing gender affirming care and supporting trans, gender divergent and non-binary individuals undergoing social and/or medical gender affirmation. While I do not currently offer WPATH assessments, I have extensive prior experience in this area and understand the systemic barriers often faced by people hoping to access gender affirming medical interventions. I am passionate about providing a safe space for clients who wish to discuss and explore their experiences related to gender and/or sexuality and feel empowered to live as their most authentic selves.
I also have substantial experience helping people experiencing depression, anxiety disorders, stress and burnout, challenges in interpersonal relationships, those experiencing grief and loss, and those who identify as neurodivergent.
Therapeutic approach
I work integratively, which means that I draw on a range of evidence-based psychological models to meet my clients’ needs, including:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR)
Internal Family Systems (IFS) and parts work
Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
Aspects of Mindfulness and Somatic Therapy
Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT)
Narrative Therapy
My therapeutic style is warm, authentic, and compassionate. I aim to work collaboratively with my clients to set treatment goals and tailor my approach to meet their needs. I value the development of a strong therapeutic relationship and believe that finding the “right fit” is key to successful therapy.
Training and qualifications
I hold a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsych), a Master of Science (MSc) in Mental Health Studies, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA Hons) in Psychology.
I am fully registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and hold an endorsement in the area of Clinical Psychology. I am also a Board-approved supervisor.
I am committed to continuous professional development to keep growing as a practitioner and learning new ways to help people. I regularly attend workshops and other educational activities on different therapeutic modalities to keep my knowledge and skills up to date and relevant to my clinical practice. I also attend regular professional supervision as well as my own personal therapy.
